Combined instrument transformers
A combined transformer consists of two measuring components: an inductive voltage transformer and a current transformer. Combined transformers are used as scaling converters of current and voltage, as well as to provide standardized current levels in various monitoring, measurement, and relay protection systems, while simultaneously isolating measuring and protective equipment from the high voltage in the network.
Our equipment is manufactured to order according to the customer’s specifications and requirements.
Main technical parameters of combined transformers:
- Rated voltage (Uₙ): from 110 kV to 330 kV
- Rated current (Iₙ): up to 6000 A
- Short-circuit current: up to 100 kA (I_dyn: 250 kA peak)
- CT – secondary windings: up to 8
- VT – secondary windings: up to 6
- Capability to maintain high measurement accuracy and protection classes
- High-quality paper-oil insulation
- Hermetically sealed stainless-steel oil expansion bellows
- Standard ambient temperatures from -40°C to +45°C (extended temperature ranges available on request)
- High-quality porcelain or composite (silicone) insulator, depending on customer preference
- Design with minimal oil and PCB-free – environmentally friendly
- Explosion-proof design that limits energy in case of internal faults
