During transformer operation, the expansion and contraction of oil cause the so-called “breathing” of the transformer — drawing air in from the atmosphere. Along with the air, moisture enters the tank, which over time can damage seals, oil, and the insulation system. This leads to premature aging of the transformer, reduces the overall service life of the equipment, and complicates the reliable supply of electricity. As a result, additional maintenance costs may arise, or even early transformer replacement may be required.
The dehydrating filter removes moisture from the air entering oil-filled transformers or OLTC conservator tanks. Moisture is absorbed by a silica gel desiccant placed inside the dehydrating breather. The device automatically regenerates the silica gel at user-defined time intervals using one of the most advanced technologies — based on Parts Per Million (PPM) threshold values or relative humidity levels.
Additional maintenance costs for transformers or substations are eliminated thanks to the built-in heater, which removes moisture during the transformer’s exhalation cycle, allowing the silica gel to regenerate. Even the smallest amount of moisture inside a transformer can cause various issues, from reduced power capacity to complete failure. The system provides real cost savings, additional customization options, and easy installation.

Applications
The dehydrating filter removes moisture from the air entering oil-filled transformers or OLTC conservator tanks. The device automatically regenerates the silica gel desiccant at predefined time intervals, relative humidity (RH) threshold values, or PPM levels. Regeneration reduces breather maintenance costs. Alarm signals and digital communication enable remote monitoring of humidity levels and breather status. Recommended for medium and high-power transformers with voltages of 1.38 kV and above.
