Harsh polar climates require transformer accessories designed to withstand these extremely cold conditions. The Qualitrol Polar Xecution range is designed to withstand these temperature changes, guaranteeing operation even on the coldest days of the year (down to –60°C)
Application area
The Qualitrol Polar Xecution Smart Transformer Air Dryer removes moisture from the air that enters the main compartment of oil-filled transformers or the on-load tap-changer compartment. Polar dehumidifiers provide recovery and operate in the same way as standard range dehumidifiers offered by Qualitrol, but are additionally protected against exposure in polar climates. Polar Xecution air dryers are designed with additional heaters to prevent water condensation from freezing at the dryer outlet. These additional heaters ensure proper drainage after reconditioning of the silica gel desiccant at extremely low temperatures.
